Be diligent and efficient today!  Create space for yourselves and your peers to accomplish your tasks! Bring your best selves to the table!

• If you are writing the second essay to improve your journal grade, it is due by the end of the week.  Here is a link to the response paper guidelines. Do the option you didn't do for the first one. 
• It is also a good time to look ahead to the Rhetorical Analysis paper due in December.

Thursday, November 14th

Starter:  Reflect for a few minutes on where you are in the project and what you might
need feedback on. Write a focusing question for today’s “tune.”

Project Tune

In groups of 4, follow the steps to “tune” each other’s’ project ideas.  

Step 1:  Presenter shares draft and project ideas.  Presenter should also share struggles and a focusing question on which the group should center the tune.

Step 2.  Group members ask clarifying questions to better understand the project idea and where the presenter wants to take it.

Step 3.  Group members ask probing questions that help the presenter think more deeply about their project.

Step 4.  Group has a discussion about the project, addressing the focusing question  and sharing ideas. Presenter should take notes during this phase.

Step 5. Presenter should take a moment to verbally process what new ideas they might have about next steps and refinements.

Step 6. Rotate and repeat

After Tune: Add some reflection to your starter. What ideas/thoughts did I get out of today's tune? What are my next steps?

Tomorrow I want to start talking about THE PROJECT.


CONFERENCES:  This week, I will meet with each of you about your project progress, your personal connection essay, your status in my class, etc.  If you have a reference about when your conference is, let me know in your starter.  I will start today with Honors students.

Fun fact: A theatrical version of 1984 is playing in ABQ in March.  Anyone want to rally?
