Advice for Meals, recapped...

  • Give yourself ample time before meal service
  • Make a list of your needs before you go
  • Make more food than you need
  • Invite Jessica and Steve
  • Prepare an intro to the meal the contextualizes the project and the purpose of the meal: Don't wing it!
  • THINK THROUGH (write down?) your TALKING POINTS.  These should be present at ASE, so it is to your advantage to have this done..
  • PHOTO all parts of meal: cooking, serving, close-ups of the food itself
  • Prompt your diners to think/talk about the themes we have studied.
  • PRINT OUT A MENU!!!!!

For All-School Exhibition...
Your group will recreate a “table setting” based on your theme that documents your meal and the science and ethics behind it.  The table should include the following artifacts:

  • Table setting and decor that matches of the theme of your meal
  • Photos of the actual meal service
  • A detailed menu
  • Documentation of your content knowledge in Chemistry and Humanities
  • Something for your audience to take away with them (Recipe cards? Quoteworthy ethical statements?  Food poetry? Advice about cooking methods?)
  • Samples of the food itself?
  • Food Ethic Essays of your group
